Rama, a compact
Killough platform

Inspired by the work of Leo
Dorst and Markus
Matern, here is a small Killough platform, named Rama because
of its threefold symmetry. More informations on Killough platforms
can be found here.
The trick is to use parts from Gigamesh
Spybot set (rotor
blade liftarms and small
tyres) to build the special "bidirectional" wheels.

Without optional bumpers, Rama is
probably the most compact LEGO Killough platform
down there... |

Wheels details. They are far from
perfect: there is friction in the small wheels,
the tyres sometimes get loose, and the hexagonal
shape makes Rama movements somewhat shaky. Nevertheless,
the fascinating displacement possibilities of a
Killough platform are here as shown in the movies
below. |
